StorageCraft plans rural seminars

Soft Solutions, working with Australia-based StorageCraft, has held seminars over the last few weeks around the country, launching ShadowProtect IT Edition — a backup system.

Greg Wyman of StorageCraft says the seminars were a complete success and that further presentations are planned.

“We got a lot of feedback from resellers and end-users about holding seminars in the smaller communities. We have planned to take our presentation to regional places like Napier and Dunedin, where resellers seldom get to see real-time presentations for a product such as ShadowProtect.”

Wyman says that his company has received requests from resellers for a technician-licensed product that requires no installation or licence on the target machine. “ShadowProtect IT provides the solution for this problem and will suit small to medium businesses, regardless of their geographic location.”

Paul Leslie, Soft Solutions business development manager, says the seminars achieved a good balance between resellers and end-users and resulted in a significant amount of interest and orders.

“Greg’s enthusiasm for the product just carries through. The majority of interest is from resellers as it gives them a powerful tool. Having said that there are a number of large organisations wanting to use the product inhouse,” he says.

Leslie says the most important benefit of the seminars is purely getting out and showing the product to people and being on hand to answer their questions. “A lot of the channel was comparing it to Ghost as that seems to be what they’re using. There’s still disbelief about the licensing restrictions for Ghost but we’re working to change that.”
