The Xbox 360 launch throughout the country saw some consumers wait for hours to secure their console. Keen gamer Wayne waited for eight hours outside EB Botany Downs, in an event that had 150 people through the doors at midnight. Several other retailers around the country had similar launches, with sales of the Xbox 360 opening at midnight.
Frazer Scott, regional sales manager for Xbox Australia and New Zealand, is reporting sales to consumers to be over 7,000 units nationwide. “We are extremely pleased with our sales to date. We saw the strength of the Xbox 360 product drive strong pre-orders, and clearly those retailers that have developed their pre-order systems and engaged their customers early out-performed other segments.”
