Barracudas land in NZ

Datastor received its first shipment of the new Seagate Barracuda 3.5-inch 750GB hard drive fresh off the plane this morning.

Sammy Sia, Seagate product manager at Datastor, says at this stage it’s hard to judge how much demand there will be for these high-capacity drives.

“These are brand new and Seagate is first to market with the 750GB product,” he says.

This is Seagate’s fifth perpendicular drive. It has already released perpendicular notebook drives and announced a line of perpendicular drivers for servers last week.

Pricing starts from $866.
