In a move designed to bolster its partner strategy Patchlink has launched a managed security service provider (MSSP) programme.
Chris Wood, Patchlink ANZ sales director, says the programme enables MSSPs to deliver quick and effective network protection to their customers.
And, says Wood, patch management has never been hotter.
“Problems are happening every other day and it’s a growing issue that needs to be addressed. These days it’s not just Microsoft, even Apple has released a patch,” he says.
Wood says that while end-users are aware of the problem they still aren’t effectively patching, which presents an opportunity for MSSPs.
“This is a chance for partners to meet and exceed SLAs [service level agreements] and significantly reduce costs at the same time. A large chunk of the market will never purchase a Patchlink system and will instead outsource.”
Wood accepts his company has to educate partners on the benefits of joining the programme but believes that in doing so it will drive demand for other Patchlink products.
“We plan to work very closely and consistently with the channel. As our partners’ business grows so will Patchlink’s.”
Through the MSSP programme partners license Patchlink’s update tool and have access to customisable marketing tools, technical training and lead-generation programmes.
Neal Gemassmer, Patchlink managing director Asia-Pacific, says the programme is designed so partners can readily add patch management capability to their portfolio of services.
Gemassmer adds that his company is committed to providing the necessary programme components to ensure its partners’ growth.
