IBM and Reseller News look for cream with awards programme
Resellers rarely get the recognition they deserve when they do a great job.
Sure, there’s the small matter of getting paid. But so long as the work is adequate and the customer solvent, the money is likely to arrive anyway. Of course, building up a reservoir of happy customers can be as good as cash in the bank. And yes, being at the front of the queue for repeat business is handy, not to mention potentially lucrative.
But as any successful manager knows there’s more to acknowledging exceptional individual performance than providing simple financial feedback. Sometimes it’s important to acknowledge exceptional performance in more formal ways. This recognition isn’t just about motivation, it’s also about learning. Formally identifying the best practices makes it easier to repeat them and improve overall performance.
What works for individual employees can work just as well for teams or entire companies.
This is one of the reasons why IBM and New Zealand Reseller News have joined forces to launch a business partner award programme honouring the nation’s top information technology resellers. We’re looking for the cream.
We know there’s some seriously great work currently being done by companies operating in the IT channel and we want to recognise and celebrate it. Frankly, it’ll give us a chance to profile some of the more successful players in the market — which should educate and inspire the wider reseller community.
New Zealand’s information technology market may not be large by international standards, but it is highly competitive and that means there are some exceptional players out there. Specifically we’re looking to identify those companies who provide the best service and offer outstanding specialist knowledge and smooth delivery.
By taking part companies will have the opportunity to get wider recognition for achievement, raise their profile in the wider industry and benchmark performance against others.
Eight separate award categories cover information security, infrastructure simplification, best small business deal, information management, service-oriented architecture, workplace collaboration, best solutions ISV and SI and best non-IBM reseller.
