Lenovo delivers Linux on notebooks
Lenovo’s New Zealand resellers have joined others around the world in offering a Linux-capable version of the ThinkPad T60p.
In its global announcement, Lenovo said the notebook was aimed at engineers and chip designers, however New Zealand general manager Karen Brace says it will attract a range of customers.
“Engineers are usually people who are quite innovative, but there are many customers who will want to use it to make use of the technology,” she says.
The T60p uses Novell’s SuSE Linux Enterprise Desktop 10 operating system, released last month, and Intel’s Centrino Duo processor. It is available in 14- and 15-inch models.
