Telco CallPlus has formed a new company, Blue Reach, to build its wireless network as it prepares to roll out a nationwide WiMAX voice and broadband service. CallPlus has formed the separate entity with a view to wholesaling the service to other carriers once the network is established. The voice and broadband service will initially target Whangarei consumers later this year, with plans to go nationwide in 2007. “This rollout will be the largest of its kind in New Zealand and will be the first to offer consumers a WiMAX voice and high speed broadband service,” says newly-appointed Blue Reach general manager Graham Walmsley.
