Transcend has added two larger versions to its T.sonic 520 series of MP3 players.

The range now includes the T.sonic 520C, which comes in 2GB and 1GB versions, which Transcend states are endowed with the same features that have made the T.sonic 520 series a winner with the “talented masses”.

The T.sonic 520C features a bright OLED display, which appears behind a mirrored faceplate and includes an FM radio, digital voice recorder and a line-in function that enables recording directly from a CD player.

The unit also connects to a PC through a USB 2.0 connection, which enables content to be dragged and dropped onto the device. The player supports MP3, WMA and WAV music formats and can also store data.

Personal information on the unit can be secured with the included password protection software.

The T.sonic 520C does not need recharging as it is powered by a single AAA battery.

However, the most interesting feature of the player must be the karaoke-type lyrics display. This encourages the user to sing-along by displaying the lyrics of the song being listened to on the devices’ screen.

RRP: 512MB T.sonic 520 – $148 + GST

1GB T.sonic 520 – $184 + GST

2GB T.sonic 520 – TBA
