Ellis back on board at Renaissance

IT industry veteran and TVNZ chief executive Rick Ellis is once again a member of the Renaissance board of directors.

Ellis left the board in 2002 after his appointment as managing director of EDS New Zealand, but was able to re-join having started his most recent term with the broadcaster.

Renaissance managing director Paul Johnston says during Ellis’s previous term on the board, he was “an excellent contributor to the discussions and in helping set the direction of the company”.

Before joining EDS, Ellis was TVNZ’s chief executive from 1998 to 2002 and he was re-hired in May this year.

His senior executive posts in the IT sector have been with Burroughs Corporation and Wang and he is a former chief executive of Ansett New Zealand. He also holds a Bachelor of Commerce.
