Trend extends partner training

Trend Micro has strengthened its technical training for small business and mid-market specialist partners.

Mid-market resellers (serving businesses with 100 to 500 seats) can participate in a free, five-day course as part of the new Trend Micro Solutions Academy. The course will be quarterly and focus on new security threats, their impact and recommendations for managing them.

Technical training for small business specialist partners includes an introduction to Trend Micro SMB version 3, client server messaging security for SMB V3 and anti-spyware for SMB V3.1.

Small and medium business director Dave Patnaik says the aim of the new training regime is to help partners learn how to configure and sell the vendor’s products.

“The idea is to bring them together in a face to face session so we can show them how the products work. It’s to help them understand our products better and to serve their customers better.”

The mid-market course prepares partners for Trend Micro’s Certified Security Expert exams. There are six topics – Trend Micro Control Manager, Officescan Corporate Edition, Interscan Message Security Suite, Interscan Web Security Suite, Network Viruswall and Scanmail for Exchange – all of which cumulate in a level-two exam.
