Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) has signed Synnex as a new trans-Tasman distributor for its full CPU products range.
AMD’s Australia/New Zealand country manager Caleb Leung says Synnex’s customers in both countries had been asking for his company’s products.
“Synnex is one of the stronger distributors in the ANZ market and that will give more presence for the products to be accessible to customers,” Leung says.
The deal brings AMD’s local distributors to three, after Ingram Micro and Legend.
Synnex country manager Richard Harri says distributing for AMD rounds out its components offering and makes it a one stop shop. He agrees there has been customer demand for AMD technology.
Synnex Australia’s chief executive officer Kee Ong says AMD has grown significantly in the components market, and by adding AMD to its portfolio it can capitalise on this growth.
The distribution agreement is also effective between the two firms in Taiwan.
