Rimage swaps Region4 for Comworth

Disc publishing specialist Rimage has signed Comworth Systems as the local distributor, replacing Region4.

Comworth will distribute the complete range of digital publishing equipment, including software, after-market accessories and other peripherals.

Comworth’s general manager Mark Charlesworth says the Rimage range will allow his company to expand its business among system integrators and to offer resellers more choice.

“We’re wanting to expand our range to our existing channel. We also want to develop more business with some of the system integrators such as Infinity, which we’re doing business with but it’s quite limited.”

Charlesworth says the distributor has traditionally based its system integrator activity around Oki dot matrix printers, which has been successful but offers little scope for add-on business apart from consumables.

“With Rimage it allows us to have a solution-type support for the resellers.” He says Comworth has built up a strong nationwide sales and service team for the Oki range.

Yoshi Oyamada, Rimage’s vice president of business development in Asia Pacific, says Comworth Systems and new Australian distributor ACA Pacific, "are two experienced companies that have deep market knowledge and nationwide coverage in Australia and New Zealand.”

As well as appointing the new distributors, Rimage is setting up new technical support services for customers with product in or out of warranty, including preventative maintenance. Region4 will stop distributing the Rimage range of disc production hardware, but will continue to sell consumables for that equipment.
