SAP expands partner role

SAP has created an expanded partner and alliances manager role with the appointment of Joanne Bowey to replace former small and medium business manager Alex Morcom.

Bowey joined SAP from BEA Systems on Tuesday and says she plans to firmly communicate to partners that SAP is strong in the small and medium enterprise space.

“The role looks after the business partners but also the alliance partners and with the expansion in the small and medium enterprise market. [Taking on the role] is such a fantastic opportunity to ensure that the expansion is a success.”

SAP’s Business One partners continue to be managed by Michael Beale.

Bowey has spent 18 years in the IT industry in New Zealand, including just over four years with HP and Compaq, followed by stints at Citrix and BEA.

She says her priority will be to examine the channel landscape and work on partner enablement.

Morcom left SAP for Auckland-based Metal Forming Technologies, a steel products supplier that had rolled out SAP’s Business One.
