Codeblue has strengthened its consulting services under the leadership of new general manager Ian Funnell.
Funnell previously spent 14 years at Computerland/Gen-i, including five as infrastructure services manager and most recently as regional head of solutions delivery. He has been at Codeblue since late January.
“The focus has been looking at our service structure – with my services background that’s something Codeblue wanted me to focus on.”
Codeblue has beefed up its consulting practice and added new staff in this area, he says.
In addition, Funnell is enjoying his move to a smaller company that is focused on the SME market rather than enterprises.
“Technology has progressed to a point where it’s possible to provide smaller companies with ‘big company’ IT service,” he says.
“Previously complex projects – such as implementing remote control of a network – can now be delivered in days, not months.”
Funnell says Telecom’s re-structure was an ideal time for him to review career options and to build on his service-oriented history by becoming a general manager.
Former general manager Ken Davis has become Codeblue's executive director.
