This month sees the launch of The 2007 IBM Business Partner awards, run in association with New Zealand Reseller News.
As stated last year when we announced the inaugural awards, this is an important project for Reseller News, as it gives us the opportunity to celebrate the great work being done in the information technology channel – which has been too often overlooked in the past.
Our goal is simple, we’re going to find the best operators in the business and then let everybody else know how good they are. Along the way some of their brilliance can be shared. We love writing about success and we know our audience loves reading about it.
During last year’s judging process IBM NZ channels manager — and one of the award judges — Michele Adams said, “The number of entries and the quality of entries is outstanding. It is really exciting to see first-hand the calibre of solutions that our Business Partners are providing to the market place. The awards give us the chance to recognise and reward our partners”.
The 2007 Awards will give you the chance to win recognition, fame and prizes for your excellence and they will put us in contact with your fascinating stories.
There have been a few tweaks to the awards since 2006. First, the prize pool for the awards has been increased with bigger marketing packages for finalists. We want to tell your story, but we’re also giving you the opportunity to speak for yourself too. At the same time, the categories have been altered to better reflect the current shape of the market.
One other important thing to remember: you don’t need to be big to enter. Last year’s award finalists and their projects reflected the depth of New Zealand’s home-grown IT industry. They included the large scale systems integrators whose names grace CBD office towers and tiny, intimate businesses loyally serving niche and local markets. Both are equally valuable to the well-being and prosperity of their customers.
