Butchers takes on Lenovo's local operation

Lenovo has appointed former Asia Pacific transactional sales director Dean Butchers as country manager, to replace Karen Brace who left in early April.

A 20-year veteran of the IT industry, Butchers has held strategic sales management roles with Lenovo as well as overseeing large enterprise strategy.

Based in Wellington, he will report to Lenovo’s CEO and general manager for Australia and New Zealand, Alan Munro.

Along with his experience at Lenovo in New Zealand and Asia Pacific (most of the team he led in his most recent role were based in Singapore or Malaysia), he built up an understanding of the New Zealand channel with roles at Telecom and HP.

He first joined IBM’s personal computing division in 1995 as notebook products and marketing manager.
