Australian enterprise content management provider Tower Software wants to extend its New Zealand partner base, after setting up its first local office in Wellington.

The firm has hired Iain Hawke to run its local operations, after being represented here for the past six years by Gen-i and service provider Infocentrik.

Hawke says Tower Software wants to add resellers and service providers who specialise in particular markets.

“Government is a market we’ve entered into but we have other vertical markets that are targets – those are pharmaceuticals, banking, finance and corporations.”

Local councils from Kaitaia to Bluff have deployed Tower Software’s ECM offering Trim Context, says Hawke. Version 6.2 will be released in September.

Hawke served as southern region general manager for Acer before joining Tower Software, and is also a former client director for NCR.

He says the new role offers him the chance to engage in long-term strategic planning, as he did at NCR.

He is currently hiring “a number of staff” for the new office.

The expansion into Wellington follows the opening of two Tower Software offices in Perth and Brisbane in the past year.
