Greentree partner Verde has reached its 100th customer milestone and the company is finding a strong customer base with mid-size firms who want business software systems that are locally developed, according to a Verde director.\
Consumer goods importer and marketer Sellagence recently adopted Greentree software amid a search late last year for a system with lower maintenance costs, says Verde’s John Fothergill.
Sellagence had been using Oracle Financials for five years. “They were talked into buying a product that didn’t fit their business,” claims Fothergill.
Verde customised Greentree to cater for Sellagence’s complex pricing model. It has also sold Greentree into coffee makers Burton Hollis, which previously ran Navision, and the local branch of a global German firm, which was using SAP.
“There’s an emerging opportunity for us with customers who have global parent companies but need support from a local company. Buying a large system isn’t necessarily the right option.”
