The seven New Zealand partners who won a trip to Beijing earlier this month in Lenovo's Legends incentive programme, missed out on a million dollar win as part of a game of chance during the trip.
Of the 42 participants from Australia and New Zealand, the only finalist in with a shot at the big prize was Western Australia's Tony Blampey of Abit Holdings. He won A$5000 in prize money after selecting from numbered scrolls.
New Zealand companies represented in China were Aiscorp, JDI, Cellnet and Ingram Micro. Thirty-six Australian resellers made the trip, which also included a visit to Lenovo’s innovation centre and manufacturing plant, Tiananmen Square, The Forbidden City and the Great Wall.
Overall, 181 staff from 96 New Zealand reseller and distributor organisations took part in the incentive scheme.
During the competition, points were accumulated by selling Lenovo-specified products, completing knowledge tests and attending vendor events.
