HDS channel addition to target government

The government market is a key focus for Hitachi Data Systems says new Sydney-based ANZ channel director Kerstin Baxter, with the vendor subsidiary soon to appoint another channel representative in Wellington.

Baxter, a Canadian who has spent the past nine years in various roles with Microsoft in Australia, will work closely with HDS’ New Zealand general manager Brent Wilkinson in her new role.

“This role will be focused on growing our business in Wellington and the partner relationships there and in other areas.”

Baxter has already visited the region during her six weeks in the job and her priority has been meeting key partners such as Revera.

“I’ve been focused on listening to our partners and seeing what they need,” she says.

Baxter says she is excited to be working in an area of the industry that is experiencing high growth. Prior to working at Microsoft, she held channel-related roles at Compaq and Digital in Canada.

The Wellington-based channel sales representative is yet to be hired.
