International relaunch for Linksys’ Partner Connection

International relaunch for Linksys’ Partner Connection

Linksys has announced the restructuring and upcoming rollout of its Partner Connection programme. It hopes to align the brand more closely to Cisco and offer the subsequent benefits to resellers.

Linksys ANZ country manager, Graeme Reardon, says the rollout of the partner programme will see resellers and the channel benefit.

“This will make it easier for Cisco-registered partners to sell both brands; we find that resellers want to move up and down in the market. For example, a client could not have the financial means to go the Cisco way and we want to offer our resellers an easier path to recommend and supply Linksys.”

Reardon says the programme will also work the other way around, by letting Linksys resellers upscale to Cisco products more easily.

“We want to make life easier for the resellers.”

The programme is expected to roll out in Canada and the US in July and should arrive in New Zealand and Australia a few months later. Existing Linksys partners will be asked to re-register for the programme.

The programme will include a two-tiered structure, the basic being Registered Partner, while the top tier is called Business Elite. This tier will give members more benefits such as increased pricing discounts and access to market development funds.

In a statement, Keith Goodwin, senior vice president of worldwide channels at Cisco said the combination of the two brands is beneficial to the market and the partners.

“Combined Cisco and Linksys offer the largest portfolio of products and services for the SME market. By working together to address the diverse small business market we can provide incremental value and profitability to the channel partners that cater to this segment.”

Elite partners will also have the opportunity to take up specialisations in network attached storage, voice and Linksys One.

Reardon says the company will display some new SME offerings at Ingram Micro’s Showcase in July.
