Government target with move to capital

Network Appliance (Netapp) has opened a Wellington office with two new staff to build its government business, in conjunction with partners Infinity Solutions and Revera.

Former Dell employees Ngahuia McNabb and Mark Cramer will staff the office as account manager and pre-sales/system engineer respectively. Australia and New Zealand managing director Peter O’Connor says the Wellington office will fulfil a number of needs among partners and customers.

“We’ve got two resellers in New Zealand and most of their resources and certainly their management are in Wellington. We’ve also got global customers with representation in New Zealand, and customers like Weta and opportunities in government we’re pursuing.”

O’Connor says Netapp has been successful in serving the financial sector in Australia and New Zealand and may target manufacturers.

After three years at Dell Ngahuia McNabb worked at Vodafone, focusing on acquisition and government business until January this year. She also spent seven years in sales at Lexmark. O’Connor says McNabb brings proven strength in Netapp’s target areas.

McNabb is one of four key appointments the firm has made shortly after the end of its financial year.

Scott Morris has been promoted to director of partner and public sector sales for Australia and New Zealand, Michael DeLandre has been promoted to Australian national systems engineering manager and Cathy Conroy to Queensland state manager.
