Albany-based distributor Snappernet has picked up the Snapgear range from Secure Computing.
Snappernet director Richard Paul says distribution was previously shared with Focus and that Secure Computing identified Snapgear as a specialist product his company could grow.
“Because we have distribution rights now, it gives us more control over how the product goes to market,” Paul says.
“Snappernet has been a reseller of Snapgear for five years and the great results it has achieved in growing our business over that time, positioned it well to become our distributor,” says Eric Krieger, ANZ manager for Secure Computing.
MPA will continue to distribute Secure Computing’s more enterprise-focused solutions. Krieger says the two distributors work in different parts of the market.
Snappernet co-director Mark Forbes says the company has the resources to take Snapgear further in the market. “We have the expertise and have been associated with the product since its beginning and have done technical support throughout.”
Snapgear is a multifunction, network-security appliance aimed at small and medium sized businesses.
Snappernet will work with Secure Computing to locate new resellers. The distributor currently works with brands such as Opengear, Draytek, Levelone, Micronet and Handlink.
