Deadline nears for IBM awards

The entry deadline is drawing closer for the second annual IBM Business Partner Awards, presented in association with Reseller News.

The awards were launched last year with SolNet Solutions winning the Supreme Award for its work in service oriented architecture. The company’s client relationship manager, Simon Burgoyne says the award acknowledges all parties involved and focused on relationships between channel partners.

Brett Arthur, general manager for SolNet’s northern region says receiving the award came down to dealing with customers.

“It really boils down to the fact that you can’t win an award without the customer.”

Entering the IBM Business Partner Awards is an opportunity for resellers to gain a high profile and recognition within the industry as an organisation that offers outstanding service, says Reseller News associate publisher Bill Bennett.

“We’re going to find the best operators in the business and then let everybody else know how good they are. Along the way some of their brilliance can be shared.”

The submission deadline for entries is Friday, 17 August. Winners for each of the eight categories, plus the Supreme Winner, will be announced at an event on Thursday, 15 November 2007. For more details visit:

Malwarebytes shoots the breeze with channel, prospects

A Kumeu, Auckland, winery was the venue for a Malwarebytes event for partner and prospect MSPs - with some straight shooting on the side. The half-day getaway, which featured an archery competition, lunch and wine-tasting aimed at bringing Malwarebytes' local New Zealand and top and prospective MSP partners together to celebrate recent local successes, and discuss the current state of malware in New Zealand. This was also a unique opportunity for local MSPs to learn about how they can get the most out of Malwarebytes' MSP program and offering, as more Kiwi businesses are targeted by malware.
