Sonicwall Aventail STv SSL VPN remote access platform

The Aventail STv SSL VPN remote access platform is Sonicwall’s first product release since it acquired Aventail Corporation in July.

The STv range is said to add a number of advanced features designed to provide benefits in three key areas: detecting the identity and security of the end point; protecting applications through granular access controls; and connecting users securely to network applications. New capabilities include multi-box management, attachment blocking, Vista support and Smartphone support.

Sonicwall claims the STv appliances are the first enterprise level remote access products offering universal access through a single gateway, a seamless user experience, and central management for all access methods.

The company also says the range is the first enterprise level SSL VPN offerings available to users of Smartphones and PDAs, and secures access from devices running Windows, Windows Mobile, Linux, and Macintosh.

The Aventail STv SSL VPN will be available at the end of August.
