Sony Ericsson P1i Smartphone

The latest addition to Sony Ericsson’s P-series of smartphone features significant improvements in design, speed and battery performance over its predecessors.

The P1i is touted as a complete mobile office, as it combines support for a wide range of push email and web browsing applications, plus hi-speed UMTS and wifi connectivity, with a compact size and multimedia capabilities.

The phone is based on the Symbian V9.1 operating system and UIQ 3.0, an open platform Sony Ericsson says offers potential for a wide range of multimedia applications.

It offers support for a variety of push email services including Exchange ActiveSync and Blackberry Connect.

The P1i also features a 2.6-inch touchscreen with a transflective display, which Sony Ericsson says is easier to view in bright light, as well as a 3.2 megapixel camera with business card scanner.

It features a dual function keyboard that combines full alpha-numeric text input with one-hand phone usability, as well as a choice of text input methods including handwriting and word completion.
