Thailand trip for top-ten performers

New Zealand resellers are again in with a chance to attend Distribution Central’s Mania executive briefing event, to be held this year in Thailand.

The top 10 resellers in Australia and New Zealand by product sales for partner vendors – which include F5, Fortinet, Aruba Networks, Bluecoat and Watchguard – qualify for attendance. Resellers have until September 30 to complete the sales.

Marketing director Nick Verykios says the event brings resellers and vendors together to form business strategies, as well as providing fun and a retreat.

“They spend four days building business plans for how they’ll take technology to market,” he says. “It’s business discussions rather than technology discussions.”

Under the distributor’s former name of Firewall Systems, the event was called PyroMania, and last year IBM New Zealand staff attended.

In past years it has been held in New York and New Orleans, but this year participants travel to Thailand in November. The trip is scheduled to include a sightseeing cruise on the Mekong River, an elephant safari and river rafting.

A Kumeu, Auckland, winery was the venue for a Malwarebytes event for partner and prospect MSPs - with some straight shooting on the side. The half-day getaway, which featured an archery competition, lunch and wine-tasting aimed at bringing Malwarebytes' local New Zealand and top and prospective MSP partners together to celebrate recent local successes, and discuss the current state of malware in New Zealand. This was also a unique opportunity for local MSPs to learn about how they can get the most out of Malwarebytes' MSP program and offering, as more Kiwi businesses are targeted by malware.
