Local appointment pays off for Kingston

Kingston expects to boost its local staff numbers and build on the revenue contribution New Zealand makes to its Asia Pacific business.

US-based CEO John Tu says the appointment of New Zealand regional manager Vaughan Nankivell a few months ago has already improved customer service here.“For a long time we’d been trying to develop the New Zealand business with a remote approach, but we’ve made the change to having a country manager to really know customers better and communicate better in the market.”

Tu says in about six months Kingston may appoint more customer service representatives and will continue to manage technical support from its Taiwanese headquarters.

The vendor has recently introduced its Corporate Partnership Programme across Australia and New Zealand, which allows partners to nominate customers to get preferential pricing on some products, along with enhanced service and support and priority on evaluation gear.
