E-commerce portal proves a winner

Initial feedback to Cellnet’s first e-commerce portal has been positive, says marketing manager Dave Clark.

“We had a soft launch on August 1 to 200 IT partners and five percent of orders have already been generated from the website.”

Cellnet did not have an e-commerce site before, as it used to be three separate companies handling IT and telecommunications, says Clark.

“We rebranded on June 1 as Cellnet and this website means, for the first time, our IT and telecommunications partners can make orders online.”

The website will be fully launched on October 1, but feedback from resellers who have trialed it so far has been positive, says Clark.

“What they really like is the highly detailed product information and the comparison charts, where they can build a comparison matrix they can print out for customers.”

The e-commerce site also offers a self-managed security system.

“This can be managed by the reseller at all security levels, so they can view invoices and pricing. Once the reseller is set up, they don’t need to go through Cellnet again to access this information.”

Clark says the company is excited about what e-commerce can offer. “We’re already seeing benefits internally and Cellnet has plans in place to further advance the site.”
