Capital connection for Oxygen Business Solutions

Auckland-based SAP consulting and services specialist Oxygen Business Solutions has appointed Chris Holmes to oversee the recently-opened Wellington office.

General manager Mike Dickinson says the company plans to build a presence in the capital.

“Previously we had been flying people in and out. As the business grows more people will be hired.”

Taking on the position of practice leader, Holmes will be responsible for sales and marketing, business development and the operational management of the Wellington office.

Prior to taking up the job, Holmes worked at IT services company EDS. During his six years there he progressed from being a senior SAP consultant to group manager of the SAP banking and content management practice.

Oxygen chief executive Mike Smith says the company is experiencing an increase in demand for its services in Wellington and is looking to build capabilities in the same way it has done in Auckland and across the four Australian offices.

The company recently opened an office in Canberra and has reported strong growth in staff numbers at its Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Auckland operations over the past year.

“Our intent is to grow a strong local practice in Wellington focused on several discrete sectors including government, telecommunications, finance and insurance, as well as the wider business sector. We will support our early phases of growth from both our Auckland and Australian teams.”
