Former Nortel New Zealand managing director Rob Spray says leading the vendor’s Asia carrier network channel business from home, shows it is embracing connected networks.
Spray took on the new role last month and plans to expand Nortel’s business in Asia through the carrier channel.
He says his company and the world are entering a “hyperconnected” age. “Everyone and everything that should be connected to a network is connected," says Spray. "Being able to be part of the Asia Pacific operation and still be based in New Zealand is proof that the world is embracing this technology.”
Nortel’s ANZ managing director Mark Stevens says today’s technology allows Nortel to promote its staff to Asia Pacific and global roles and continue to be based in New Zealand.
He says the vendor is focused on growing its business in New Zealand and has recently closed some major deals here. Nortel is also actively recruiting staff here, Stevens says.
