Danish-based GN’s Jabra brand is the latest addition to Cellnet’s growing stable of products.
Marketing manager Dave Clark says the company has signed a non-exclusive distribution deal that took effect this month.
“It’s a range of Bluetooth accessories and products that adds to and strengthens our current lineup. Currently we have Parrot, Blueant and Celledent. Globally Jabra is a market leader and we’ll be offering the whole range including the office products.”
Clark sees a lot of opportunity for Jabra in the retail sector with the likes of Telecom stores, particularly with stores that are focusing more on the business side of things.
“There is a good deal of demand for those types of products. Our focus is going to be the telco and IT space, but when you say telco that has a retail component.”
Clark adds that a lot of Jabra products are in that telco space, which is where Cellnet is headed.
“Bluetooth is a growth area in New Zealand.”
Local distributor Digitalblue has also signed what it believes is an exclusive agreement to supply GN’s Jabra brand of wireless headsets and microphones into retail stores. Marketing manager Paul Dowd says the company has a good relationship with Cellnet but did not wish to comment further.
