French connection for Microsoft

Chris Ichter from Microsoft France will join the local subsidiary as its enterprise and partner group director on January 7, replacing David Guy. He has been with Microsoft since 2003 and prior to that worked for a number of IT industry players including HP, Memorex, ICL and Xerox. His experience spans 18 years and he has managed teams with responsibilities for direct sales to customers and through-partner sales. Ichter also comes with a strong track record of helping customers achieve business results in highly competitive environments through Microsoft technology.

In a statement, Microsoft’s managing director Kevin Ackhurst says he is excited to have Ichter contribute his more global perspective to the team.

“With Chris Ichter, we will have on-board an experienced Microsoft senior manager whose industry understanding will increase the pace and depth of our contribution to the business needs of our customers and partners in New Zealand.”

Malwarebytes shoots the breeze with channel, prospects

A Kumeu, Auckland, winery was the venue for a Malwarebytes event for partner and prospect MSPs - with some straight shooting on the side. The half-day getaway, which featured an archery competition, lunch and wine-tasting aimed at bringing Malwarebytes' local New Zealand and top and prospective MSP partners together to celebrate recent local successes, and discuss the current state of malware in New Zealand. This was also a unique opportunity for local MSPs to learn about how they can get the most out of Malwarebytes' MSP program and offering, as more Kiwi businesses are targeted by malware.
