Planwell Technology boosts local operations

Business services company Planwell Technology has made new appointments and expanded its Auckland office in response to customer demand.

Country manager Stuart Maitland says the company realised its sales team couldn’t cover the demands of the whole enterprise and mass market product suite.

“We restructured our sales team to have an enterprise, sales and account manager and two mid-market people based in Auckland and Wellington.”

Maitland says the restructuring was driven by software and capability advances, especially in business IT service management.

“We deal with customers in the mid-market, but also with some of the largest customers in New Zealand. They have different requirements and we need to be able to service our customers effectively across Wellington and Auckland.”

Maitland says it is the trans-Tasman master distributor for Tripwire, which is helping it meet growing customer compliance and auditing requirements.

“The cost of compliance and auditability of your network is becoming critical to a lot of these organisations. You have a lot of compliance issues driven out of the US around the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. A lot of New Zealand companies are owned offshore and they have those requirements as well.”

Planwell Technology has also opened an office in the Philippines to service its BMC Software business.

“In the IT service management space we are an elite partner of BMC. We’re one of about seven companies worldwide with that status. The Philippines is a new venture, but it has grown very quickly because we are the master distributor for BMC there.”
