Australian data management company Spectrumdata is moving beyond its traditional oil and gas customers, with the new Storage Success partner programme.
Under the programme, the company will be working locally with traditional and non-traditional channel partners for the first time.
“About 70 percent of our business has been oil and gas customers, but what I’m trying to do here is get the ball rolling with commercial opportunities around the southern hemisphere,” says Spectrumdata CEO Craig Tamlin.
He says there is a huge opportunity for resellers with the company’s new tape drive solutions or backup software, to customers in other sectors.
“What we are saying to resellers is that you no longer have to create a legacy of archived data. You can include with your transaction services, the opportunity to migrate the data to a current format. For the reseller it gives them something else they can sell, the ability to sell a complete solution and they can make more money and keep their customers satisfied.”
Spectrumdata is also introducing a referral partner programme.
“The reason for offering this programme is that the services we offer are relevant to a wide range of industries such as legal organisations. Companies in these types of industries may not be able to offer our services directly as a reseller, but can refer others in the industry to us,” says Tamlin.
Storage referral partners accrue reward credits, which are provided via a prepaid debit card that can be redeemed for goods and services worldwide.
Tamlin says the feedback from both Australian and New Zealand resellers has been positive.
“Our New Zealand country manager Tony Duffy has been out there talking to local partners. Everyone from big name vendors through to service integrators, are all looking to resell these types of services.”
He adds that the company is excited by the opportunity to be able to offer something to the local market that addresses a broader market base in the commercial space.
