Websense updates ChannelConnect programme

Websense has refreshed its worldwide partner programme following the company's acquisition of Surfcontrol last October.

The ChannelConnect programme is designed to make it easier for channel partners to sell and support the growing suite, and provide one framework which scales to meet both small and medium business and enterprise-focused partners' needs, it says.

Australia/New Zealand channel manager Mark Spencer says the programme shows Websense has made a renewed commitment to educating partners on its expanded security portfolio. He says there will be additional margins, particularly on new business.

"There is a growing need for content security solutions so this offers us great potential," says Spencer.

The new programme includes an online portal where partners can access product information, marketing resources, deal registration, product renewals, training and certification exams.

There are also new web security, messaging security and data security product bundles aimed at helping partners cross-sell and build recurring revenue streams.

The programme will be expanded to meet the needs of more partner types, including systems integrators, in the second half of this year, he says.
