Local office to boost Storagecraft

Storage and security vendor Storagecraft has opened an Auckland office in a bid to support channel partners. The move comes seven months after Datastor was signed as a local distributor in August 2007. The office will be headed by business development manager Felix Tsang, formerly from local systems integrator Ultra Tech.

Storagecraft’s Asia Pacific regional director Greg Wyman says the office will provide extra resources for local partners.

“Having Felix on board means we can assist them better as we’re 100 percent channel focused.”

Tsang will initially be the only local staff member, but Wyman is looking to make other appointments after a settling down period of six to nine months.

The office was also opened due to strong local sales of the company’s Shadowprotect product.

Storagecraft will continue to market its wares through its two-tier channel model with Datastor and Soft Solutions as distributors.

“Datastor and Soft Solutions help to take us into two different areas of the market. We find it highly complementary to have two different distributors.”
