Fuji Xerox Printers revs up South Island presence

Fuji Xerox Printers has beefed up its South Island reseller base with 50 signings between last October and December, as well as appointing Christchurch-based business development manager Wayne Thomas.

Country sales manager Shirley Wigley says a survey of South Island reseller businesses mid-last year, and her own visits to the firms, showed many felt neglected.

“They don’t see a lot of companies focusing on their area and we saw an opportunity to do that.”

About 90 percent of the new partners are small and medium business-focused, while the larger recent signings include Cyclone, Datacom and New Zealand Toner Supplies.

Some had occasionally sourced Fuji Xerox printers previously, but none were “recognised resellers”, she says. The partners get access to marketing and sales support and business planning assistance through Thomas and FXP’s product managers at Ingram Micro.

The South Island reseller base is now pretty much equal to that of the North Island, Wigley says.

Cyclone’s Christchurch-based managing director Richard Morgan says it worked on a tertiary education tender with Fuji Xerox Printers late last year and found the two worked well together.
