EMC has confirmed the appointment of Robin Whitaker as its local country manager.
Reseller News reported in January that Whitaker, formerly IBM’s southern region manager, was being widely touted to succeed Craig Stoddart, who left the role last October.
The storage vendor announced Whitaker’s appointment as EMC’s country sales manager earlier this month, along with that of former Ingram Micro volume business unit marketing director and general manager Vivienne Larsen as country channels manager.
Neither Whitaker nor Larsen were available for interviews, but in a statement Larsen said she plans to continue growing the volume of business generated through EMC’s partners.
Former channel account manager Dawn Stevens left EMC to start up a cooking school for children, Kidz Can Cook, in Devonport, Auckland. She officially resigned from EMC last September, but remained with the company part-time until Larsen started in January.
Arron Patterson, who has been with EMC’s New Zealand services business for nearly three years, has been promoted to take on the new position of country services manager, where he is responsible for the company’s global services lines including consulting, maintenance and support.
Former country manager Craig Stoddart left EMC last year and has become a director with Datacom’s engineering business.
