There will be plenty to enlighten resellers and end customers at the fourth annual Datastor Forum.
Datastor sales and marketing manager Dave Rosenberg says it will feature exciting sessions on the virtual desktop. “We’re putting together a heterogeneous environment involving a number of vendors around virtualisation, disaster recovery and data protection right down to the desktop level.”
The event has grown in popularity and attracted approximately 350 attendees last year, says Rosenberg. “It will be a full day and it’s targeted at both resellers and end customers, so we encourage resellers to bring their customers along.”
Delegates have a choice of two major sessions. Architectural for the technically minded and business sessions for those looking at solution aspects. Topics covered will include data security, compliance, management, optimisation and virtualisation.
Datastor’s partners including VMware, Symantec, APC and IBM will feature.
“We’ve got Riverbed in the WAN optimisation space, Datadomain talking about data duplication and Juniper launching new switches. We’ve just brought on Wyse terminals and EMC will talk about its new partner-tiered programme,” says Rosenberg
Delegates will have some fun too, with a chance to win up to $1000 in a cash grab booth, a competition to find the most creative place for a Datastor tattoo, as well as prizes of two Philips widescreen LCD TVs.
“We try and put on a show that is valuable to people, because we know everyone is busy,” he says.
The Datastor Forum, which is free to attend, will be held in Auckland on May 6 and Wellington on May 8.
