Based in Auckland, Hick will manage both IT and telco resellers to promote Alcatel-Lucent’s enterprise products, the company says.
Hick joins Alcatel-Lucent from IT services firm Fronde, where she was client business manager and consultant, and previously held similar roles at Vodafone, Air New Zealand and ASB Bank.
In the newly-created role, Hick says she plans to work with Alcatel-Lucent’s sales team and channel partners to provide the advanced communications offerings local businesses need to compete in the global market.
“We have the advantage of strong and successful channel partnerships in New Zealand with such companies as Cogent, Datacraft and DownerCommspec,” she says.
Sean O’Halloran, Australasia vice-president of Alcatel-Lucent’s enterprise business says with a strong background in software, services and applications, Hick will strengthen the company’s New Zealand team as it grows the enterprise business.
Alcatel-Lucent announced two major projects with local organisations in the past year.
It won a five-year, multi-million dollar, network integration and transformation contract with Transpower, while Kordia selected its IP routing products to support the delivery of Freeview TV simultaneously over both satellite and terrestrial networks.
