Ministry of Fisheries casts out for tablets

A vendor is sought by the Ministry of Fisheries in Wellington to supply 25 mobile hardware devices for its field staff. According to RFP (request for proposal) documents released this week, the tablets must have a separate keyboard, charging system and case to enable safe transportation.

The devices also need to be environmentally sealed to IP67 standards. The tablet design must allow easy access or data entry by someone wearing thick rubber gloves. It also has to be compatible with custom-designed data entry software that has been built on Microsoft .Net technologies and XP Tablet software.

The deadline for replies is Friday, May 23. More details are available on the Government Electronic Tenders website under ICNNZ reference 21763.
