Maclean picks MessageLabs for security service

Maclean Computing has signed a partnership with UK-headquartered messaging security provider MessageLabs to power its hosted service.

Although it signed just before Christmas, Maclean is only now formally launching the service – Maclean Managed Email Security.

Director of sales and marketing Chris Maclean says he anticipated growing demand for such a security service and had discussed options with its existing vendors.

“Statistics show there’s rapid growth in [the messaging security] area worldwide. In Australasia we’re a little bit behind but particularly in the United States, Europe and the UK it’s a very big market.”

MessageLabs won out for Maclean Computing because its service level agreements were the best, says Maclean.

“Our research identified MessageLabs as the only company that provides service level agreements to guarantee against 100 percent of viruses both known and unknown, and 99 percent of spam with incredible accuracy.”

MessageLabs’ Australia and New Zealand country manager Andrew Antal says it chose to partner with Maclean Computing because the reseller has 60 staff and 15 years’ experience, and because of its local customer network.
