Eastern Institute of Technology seeks computer supplier

The Hawkes Bay-based Eastern Institute of Technology (EIT) wants a supplier of computer equipment and services. According to request for proposal (RFP) documents released this week, EIT wants to update its 1000 desktop computers in five locations which currently run Windows XP professional.

It also needs to replace several Microsoft servers with a blade server infrastructure, and needs new laptop equipment including standard, tablet and lightweight laptops.

The RFP states the successful supplier must be an IBM contracted business partner. The contract will run for three years, with the possibility of renewing it for a further two years.

The deadline for replies is Friday, June 6. More details are available on the Government Electronic Tenders website under ICCNZ reference number 21886.
