Spy agency seeks SAN solution

Spy agency seeks SAN solution

The Government Communications Security Bureau in Wellington is looking for a vendor to provide a Storage Area Network (SAN) solution for its head office.

The Bureau also wants to purchase a second SAN and backup solution for its station in Waihopai Valley near Blenheim.

According to RFP (request for proposal) documents released this week, the bureau wants to consolidate distributed servers with local storage arrays to improve efficiency and enable virtualised server infrastructures.

The vendor is required to provide SAN management technical training to bureau system administrators and the successful proposal must allow for expansion of the storage infrastructure over the next five years.

The deadline for replies is Friday, June 6. More details are available on the Government Electronic Tenders website under ICCNZ reference number 21970.
