Ministry of Education tenders for IT upgrade

The Ministry of Education in Wellington is looking for a supplier to upgrade the IT infrastructure at its 44 office sites. According to request for proposal (RFP) documents released this week, the state of the IT equipment at the district offices varies greatly and ranges from basic through to recently refitted sites.

The Ministry originally intended to bring all of its district offices up to one standard, ensuring that the same infrastructure was in place at each site. However, budget limitations meant that the Ministry has had to limit the scope of its work. It now wants to replace equipment racks and uninterruptible power supply units at selected sites.

The supplier will be responsible for procuring the necessary hardware and implementing the changes at each site. The deadline for replies is Monday, July 28. More details are avaliable on the Government Electronic Tenders website under ICCNZ reference 22542.
