The popularity of Nintendo Wiis and Apple iPods is being harnessed to promote Westcon and Emerson Network Power’s recently established partnership.
Emerson and Westcon signed a distribution deal in March as an extension of their relationship in Australia and are running a joint incentive promotion to launch the new agreement.
The promotion runs until the end of September and aims to push sales of Emerson’s Liebert GXT2 uninterruptible power supplies with resellers receiving free iPods or Wii gaming consoles for each unit sold.
It features five reward levels based on sales of different GXT2 models and bundles of Emerson products.
The promotion was launched at an event for resellers in Auckland recently, where the companies also announced they are conducting a direct marketing campaign to help drive demand for Emerson products.
“We are doing email blasts to customers over the next three months,” says Emerson channel manager Jamie Cooper, who said resellers’ existing customers can be included in the campaign.
“We can use resellers’ databases with the marketing being done by Westcon.”
At the same event, Emerson national sales manager Nick van der Plas urged resellers to make use of the company’s sales and technical resources. “There are opportunities to do business around solutions – we have the resources to help resellers build solutions.”
