Buying ATL Systems is set to provide Maclean Computing with a ready-made market in Wellington for its mid-market focussed IT services.
Auckland-based Maclean announced it is buying ATL Systems, which has offices in Auckland and Wellington, for an undisclosed price, yesterday. It will formerly take ownership of the business on August 1.
The buy strengthens Maclean’s position as an IT and telephony mid-market provider in Auckland and creates an opportunity to offer similar services in Wellington, says managing director Allan Maclean. “Some of our Auckland based customers have significant presence in Wellington, and have asked us to join them. [This] acquisition addresses that.”
The acquisition is part of a controlled growth strategy, says Maclean. “On the back of a strong year for Maclean Computing this acquisition is an important opportunity for us.”
ATL Systems was established in 1988 and managing director Mike Milne says the time was right for him to “step back” and to let Maclean take the company “to the next level”.
“Our customers and staff are in good hands with Maclean Computing and I look forward to following the company’s progress over the coming years,” says Milne.
ATL Systems’ key reseller brands include EMC, IBM, Toshiba, HP, Dell, VMware, Microsoft and Cisco.
