APC expands professional services

APC is offering partners new professional services focused on data centre and carbon footprint assessment, data centre design, engineering services and training for IT and data centre facility managers.

Australia and New Zealand country manager Gordon Makryllos says the move was prompted by demand from both customers and partners.

“We’re finding data centre managers are facing a whole set of new challenges they haven’t faced before,” says Makryllos. “The physical infrastructure is one area that hasn’t been looked at for a long time and with the increase in densities that are being deployed, that’s creating a whole new dynamic in the data centre.”

Among the assessment tools is a carbon calculator, launched as part of the new website tools.apc.com

All APC partners have access to the services, which can be re-branded.

“Resellers have a lot of IT skills. We’re not investing in that, our skills are around the foundation and infrastructure layers and helping resellers become educated and deliver.”
