Bay of Plenty Polytech to ditch old SAN

The Bay of Plenty Polytechnic in Tauranga is after a new storage area network (SAN) system.

According to request for proposal documents released this week, the current system dates back to 2004 and is no longer coping with campus requirements.

The polytechnic has two campuses that are linked with a 100 Mb-routed link. It has about 1400 GB of data on the current SAN.

Its ideal replacement SAN would include 3 TB of additional useable disk capacity.

The successful supplier will need to install the new system by the end of 2008.

The deadline for replies is Monday, September 22. More details are available on the Government Electronic Tenders website under ICCNZ reference 23181.
